Dani got to compete for the first time with her little dance group this past Saturday. She was so excited and she even got a trophy (picture of Dani and trophy to come later). It was so much fun watching her and she did very well for her first competition.

Bassett Happenings

Wow--life moves so fast! Here are some of the things that have happened to us in the past month and some things that will be happening in the next little while.

*Kirk's broken hand--Kirk broke a bone in his hand 2 weeks ago. He was snowmobiling and went on a jump, landed too hard and his hand went between the handlebar and brake. Because he gashed it open as well the doctor was not able to cast it so he is just in a brace for a few weeks.

*New calling--I have a new calling as the teacher for the 12-13 year-olds in Sunday School. I am excited to try this calling but I am a bit apprehensive as I am around that age all day.

*Bear Lake Dance Competition--May 9th will be Nikole's final dance competition of the season. She will perform 2 routines with her dance group, 1 with the entire team, and a solo. Dani also gets to compete in this one with 2 dances. Dani is so excited because win or lose each girl gets a trophy and after Nikole having so many Dani is ready to finally get one as well.

*Cody growing up--I know, it has to happen. However, I don't like it. He will finish drivers ed in two weeks and he has a real job for the summer. He will be washing dishes and busing tables at the Bear Trapper Inn in Garden City. He is very excited for both as they each mean freedom that comes with wheels and money.

*Baptism--Nikole will be baptized on August 1st.

I am sure there is more--but I will add that later. Hope you all are well and know that we love all our friends and family.

State Gymnastics

Here is Tyler's gymnastics team in Heber City, UT. The theme this year was "Fiesta", hence the head gear and shakers. Tyler did not have his best meet here, but it has not deterred him. He loves gymastics and is quite good. We are proud of how far he has come.

Easter

Here are our cute kiddos--minus Cody (he had to leave early to prepare the sacrament). Easter is always fun with the coloring of eggs and we always do a treasure hunt of some sort. I really do try to teach the true meaning of Easter and I so hope that it will eventually have special meaning for my children.

Beaver Mtn. Ski Resort--We love snow!!

Here is Cody taking a break. He doesn't get much of his own skiing in on these days because he is so busy either teaching a class or helping his little brother and sisters.

Best teacher in the world!! Cody has been working with Dani this year. Finally, last week she got it and is now skiing without a lot of help.

Tyler is our lone snowboarder. He is getting really good but he still is trying to recruit Joslyn into snowboarding.

Nikole loves to ski. She just keeps going. I have to remind her to come and check in with me at the lodge so I don't get so worried.

How adorable! Tiny people on tiny skis! Dani is finally loving to ski as much as the others do.

Joslyn has a ball when we go. She and I hang out in the lodge for a while then we go out and play and watch the kids. Once out side she loves to eat the snow. But, eventually, sleep takes over and she gets the best of both worlds!

Cody loves to ski!! He is now skiing off cliffs, not big ones mind you, but 10-20 foot cliffs. Enough to make a mother's heart stop!

1st Gymnastic Competition

Tyler had his first gymnastics competition on January 24th in West Haven, Utah. He competed in 3 events and did so good for his first time. On floor (this is the one he dreads, he has to do multiple back hand springs and he is still working on getting over 4 of them) he took 5th; on the trampoline he took 5th; but on the double-mini he took second (missing first by a tenth of a point)! He had so much fun and is excited for the Roy one on Valentine's day. It was great to see him do so well and enjoy it. He works really hard and has come along way this year. We are proud of you Tyler and love you very much!

EAGLE SCOUT!

EAGLE SCOUT!
In August Cody earned his Eagle Scout award. He has had a lot of fun during his scouting years and finally the end arrives. For his project he did saftey kits for all of the primary children. The primary and parents were invited to listen to Sheriff Bunn talk about safety. He then fingerprinted every child and those along with a strand of hair, a picture and dna sample were placed in a baggie for the parents to keep. Cody was given the Eagle Charge by his father which was truely special. We want to thank all of the friends and family for coming to be with him on the special day. We especially thank Alan Michelson for his dedication to scouting in helping Cody and for his friendship. Cody, we are so proud of you and love you very much!

Grandma & Grandpa Kennedy

Grandma & Grandpa Kennedy
This picture was taken while we were down in Marysvale at Tanner's baptism. (Why I didn't get a picture of all the grandkids with grandma and grandpa is beyond me). My kids love their grandparents dearly and enjoy spending time with them. My parents are my heros. They are always there for me and love me unconditionally. They spoil my children--but grandma would say that is love and the kids would agree. Thank you Mom and Dad for being mine.

WE LOVE OUR SEANEE B!

WE LOVE OUR SEANEE B!
A highlight of our South Dakota trip was having Sean with us. We only get to see her maybe twice a year because we live so far apart. Sean has turned into such a beautiful young lady (we love all of the nieces and nephews!) and she has the sweetest of personalities. While in South Dakota she celebrated her 14th birthday and we snapped this special photo of her and Grandpa Bassett.

Gone But Not Forgotten

Gone But Not Forgotten
This blog is all about family, and even though Dan is not with us here he is still a very big part of this family. He will always be a big part of our hearts and we love him dearly.

Here are some pictures of us all at Bear Lake in August.
